A Technical Assist Rapid Response line, Compliance Digests and Tips from the Trade enable school staff to access the team’s more than 60 years of combined special populations leadership experience.
The Collaborative team stays on top of national research, trends and best practices and disseminates to the NYC charter school sector through multiple avenues, ensuring schools are in the know.
The digital resource library offers member schools research, guidance, exemplars and training materials while the PD on Demand course catalogue ensures round the clock access to guidance on mandates and best practices.
Collaborative leadership has a seat at the table and advocates for laws, policies, and practices that ensure special education accountability and reform at both the city and state levels.

Our in-house experts partner with school and industry leaders to provide dozens of trainings, best practice sharing opportunities and guidance on key topics including school operations, human resources, finance, facilities management and more.
Our direct services – including Teacher Certification Reviews and State Assessment Scoring Consortium, to name a few – are designed to build schools’ capacity to effectively (and efficiently!) serve their students and staff.
For more than 20 years, the Charter Center’s teams have collected exemplars, produced FAQs and guidance, and vetted service providers to help build schools’ knowledge and capacity. School teams are encouraged to check out our online Resource Library and Vendor List.
The Charter Center’s marketing and PR teams work to educate families about the charter school option. We promote schools via the NYC Charter School FINDER, Open House Calendar and Common Online Charter School Application. We also seek to dispel charter school myths and misinformation to ensure policymakers stay informed. Get the Facts!
Our team is committed to ensuring NYC charter schools receive the funding and services they are entitled to as public schools. We monitor city and state laws and regulations, push back on bureaucratic creep, and work to operationalize new policies and procedures to the benefit of charter schools and their students.
