CHARTER SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE WEEK: NYC FAMILIES ENCOURAGED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT PUBLIC SCHOOL OPTIONS
Hundreds of NYC Charter Schools are Welcoming Families for Tours and Information Sessions
(NEW YORK) – The New York City Charter School Center today launched “Charter School Open House Week” – an opportunity for parents across the five boroughs to learn about their local public charter schools. Taking place through Saturday, November 16, schools across the city will be hosting information sessions, tours, and other events in order for parents to learn about their local options. Open houses, school tours, and other school events taking place in all five boroughs can be found on the Charter Center’s Online Charter School Open House Calendar, which is easily sortable by borough and school type.
“Charter School Open House Week is an opportunity for families to explore public schools that best meet the needs of their children,” said Charter Center CEO James Merriman. “Neighborhood public charter schools are delivering exceptional results for kids, and we encourage all families to research their options and apply to the schools that are right for their children.”
The Charter Center recently launched the Common Online Charter School Application for the 2020-2021 school year, allowing families across the five boroughs to apply, through a single application, to 228 different charter school sites in New York City.
