“There’s been so much learning loss, which is why we need to get back to normal.” We’ve heard this trope countless times in the last year-and-a-half since the pandemic began but what does it mean to return to “normal?” What did “normal” look and feel like for the most marginalized and disenfranchised students in the US before COVID-19?
